Maria Frostic
Maria is a free spirited, adventure seeking, storytelling guru. With undergraduate degrees in Biology and English, a terminal degree in Science and Natural History Filmmaking, and more than a decade of professional experience in science research, education, and multimedia, Maria is uniquely poised to communicate science in the most innovative, compelling, and accessible manner possible to a range of target audiences. Maria has worked for esteemed science institutions that include NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the National Park Service, the Nature Conservancy, Center for Coastal Studies, Catalina Island Marine Institute, and more. Her work has appeared on National Geographic, Discovery Health Channel, PBS, NASA television, and in classrooms and museums nationwide. Maria is an alumnus of the National Outdoor Leadership School, where she built snow quinzhees while winter camping in Yellowstone, sea kayaked through pods of dolphins in Baja, rapelled into the underground wonders of Bighorn Caverns, backpacked the Grand Canyon with a comet overhead, and scaled big walls on multi-pitch climbs at Red Rocks. She is a Fulbright scholar, a Woods Hole Ocean Science Journalism Fellow, a lover of life, a good friend to many. Maria resides with her husband, four perfect wild boys, and soul pup golden retriever Sadie on O'ahu in Lanikai, where she finds deep solace on the shore and in the sea. Maria is an avid yogini, gardener, painter, alpine skier, sand castle builder, and aspiring tennis player.
